Biography

The Lettering Cooperative is a group of young Black South African artists in Cape Town who were trained by the Belgian letter carver Maud Bekaert and graduated in 2009.

Artist Statement

"Our artistic practice involves carving house numbers, nameplates, memorials and a variety of other signs and images into stone. We make some high quality reproductions of our creations, working on a personal level as well as on a commission basis.
