Art has always been a part of Andre Roth’s life.
After she finished her studies in fine art Andre worked as a tour guide. The travel experience added to her inspiration and creativity. She did not actively work as an artist for a few years, but began creating art in her mind’s eye. Now she practices art by experimenting with different mediums and enjoys the freedom to express herself through her art.
“Even after many years of drawing, painting, creating I still can’t classify my style. I find I work on impulse, the end product not necessarily in sight. The idea grows as the work grows.I like to experiment with various mediums; my favourites being charcoal and oil. Charcoal is raw and bold and almost takes over my hand when I pick it up. Where oil will teach me discipline and controls me.At the moment I am working on a series of charcoal drawings on fabriano paper. I draw my inspiration from the many people I have met in Africa"
